The Hong Kong Polytechnic University was established in 1937. It is ranked 8th in the QS Global Top 50 Young Universities 2013/14, 25th in the QS Asian University Rankings 2013, and 34th in the Times Higher Education Special Edition's 2013 Global Top 100 Young Universities. PolyU's School of Nursing is dedicated to conducting high-quality clinical research. The school has an innovative research team that produces diverse research outputs, covering a wide range of medical and nursing topics. The team focuses on several areas, including elderly health, palliative care, family and community health, mental health, disaster care, transitional health care, traditional Chinese medicine, and complementary therapies.
In 2013, our hospital signed a research and teaching cooperation agreement with the School of Nursing of PolyU. In the international conference on nursing hosted by our hospital in June 2013, Alex Molasiotis, Head of the Department of Nursing of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, and Professors YUEN Jean Tak LOKE, YUEN Jean Tak Alice, as the invited keynote speakers, introduced the international research results such as “ Application effect study of acupressure on tumour Research on the application effect of acupressure on tumour fatigue in patients” and other research results were presented. The two professors were also appointed as visiting professors of our university.
In 2007, our school joined the “China Nursing Alliance” led by the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, and participated in the regular student summer programmes conducted by the Alliance.In July 2013, our school sent 8 nursing students to the Hong Kong Polytechnic University to carry out two weeks of study and exchange activities, and visited many of its affiliated hospitals and the “Elderly Home”. In July~August 2014 our hospital will receive nursing students from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University to carry out study, practice and research with our students in our affiliated hospitals, Wuxi Tongren International Rehabilitation Hospital and other institutions.
